Every Andaman holiday starts with a flight to Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram), and flights are the part of the budget that changes most. This guide gives you a sensible starting point. Always check live fares before you book.

Where do flights land?

Flights arrive at Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair, airport code IXZ. Our team picks you up at the airport, and your first night is usually in Port Blair. For routes by sea, see how to reach the Andamans.

Typical flights and fares by region

These are rough return fares per person from our trip builder. They include a range from off season to peak season and are shown separately from your package price.

How long is the flight?

From Kolkata or Chennai the flight is a little over two hours. From other cities most travellers connect through Kolkata, Chennai or sometimes Delhi, so plan for five to nine hours door to door. Direct flights from some cities operate on certain days only.

Tips to save money and stress

  1. Book flights early for December to January, when seats and prices both peak.
  2. Prefer morning arrivals so you reach Port Blair in time for sightseeing.
  3. Avoid a flight on the same day you return from Havelock or Neil. Ferries can be delayed.
  4. Check baggage limits, since the Andaman sectors can be strict about weight.
  5. Keep your return flight in the afternoon or evening so a delayed ferry does not make you miss it.

How we handle flights

Our packages cover stays, private cabs, ferries and entry tickets. Flights are separate. In the trip builder, pick your departure city and we show a tentative fare range with the airports, airlines and route, so you can see your full budget. We can also help you book if you ask.

Fares change daily. The numbers here are for budgeting only. Check live fares on the airline site before you pay.
